What is Microlink?
Microlink is a proprietary ultrasonic welding process that creates a mechanical bond between the liner and the cap without the use of adhesives, solvents, or chemicals. This solvent-free approach eliminates the risk of contamination and ensures product integrity for sensitive applications.
How the Process Works
The Microlink process involves the precise placement of a liner into the cap followed by the application of ultrasonic energy. Using a custom-designed anvil to hold the liner securely in place, an ultrasonic horn transmits high-frequency mechanical vibrations to the contact area. These rapid vibrations generate localized frictional heat at the interface of the liner and cap material.
As the materials reach their softening point, the heat facilitates material flow and fusion, creating a permanent, homogeneous bond between the liner and the cap. Once cooled, the result is a structurally sound, tamper-resistant closure without any added adhesives or secondary materials.
