Liners are used in various Life Science segments, particularly in applications where high purity, low extractables and seal integrity are needed for container closures. The film on the face of these liners imparts an inert, chemically resistant surface that is ideal for high purity or volatile chemical applications.
Saint-Gobain offers a wide range of thicknesses, colors and face materials. As the producer of the PTFE film, we have control of the raw material quality and characteristics. All liners are measured continuously during manufacturing. Additionally, we have over 100 different dies in house to produce liners in any diameter. Saint-Gobain also produces slit liners in multiple styles—including straight, cross and star—to allow for easier penetration.
Saint-Gobain’s standard product offering is as follows:
|PT100||PTFE||PE (Polyethylene) Foam|
|PT300||Vented PTFE||PE (Polyethylene) Foam|
|PT900||PTFE||EPDM ((Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer)|
The thickness, durometer and color can be custom manufactured and configured to meet individualized needs.
Market examples for specialized liners include:
Customer specified thickness, ultra-low bleed silicone with PTFE face, 30-60 durometer hardness
- PTFE is chemically inert
- Provide a tight seal
- High-quality silicone reduces sticking
Customized pre-slit silicone liner with PTFE face in choice of color
- Low durometer for easy needle insertion and increased resistance to coring
- Pre-slit liner releases vacuum pressure within vial after a large sample is extracted
- Colors enable easy identification of samples
Saint-Gobain can manufacture liners in any diameter, color, thickness and durometer, with or without a PTFE face.
